@ Spirited Mama - so glad you are still hanging in there! Wow....so it's just a matter of days for you now! Soooo exciting
I also started dilating at 37 weeks when I was pregnant with my daughter....my check up was the Friday and dr told me I was 3cm dilated already...my daughter was born 3 days later

Hello Ladies

Just an update from my side...saw the Dr yesterday, @37weeks. She is still happy to wait until next week, 38weeks, to do the induction. Yesterday my BP was still stable but found protein in ursine AGAIN. I told my DH when I woke up that things are happening....Told dr and she did an internal exam too....well my cervix is softened and I am 1-2cm dialated already
If things don't happen over the weekend then I see her on Monday for a check up. She will then do a stretch and sweep. Hopefully that will help the process along. If not, then I'll be admitted probably on Wednesday and she will do the induction.

At this stage I am just happy that my body is playing along. Dr says that an induction will be very successful as things are already happening. My worry was that we would do an induction and my body won't be ready.

Oh this baby boy is now 3.2 kg
Bear in mind my first LB was 3.4kg at birth, induction at 39 weeks.

The waiting is killing my DH and kiddo. Seems I'm the only patient one
I am taking it easy but trying walk a bit and also started rocking on my gym ball.

How is everyone doing? Seems to be getting quieter and quieter on here as everyone is getting closer!

@ Spirited Mama - glad you have been discharged and that you get to rest at home with your family around you. Keeping fingers crossed that your LO stays all snug in your womb for a few more days! Just relax and take it easy....you're almost there

@ Debbie - your stork party is around the corner....always a nice get together with family and friends and you get the most adorable things! Had mine in Dec already, and now my work colleagues are having one for me next Thursday....a combined baby shower and farewell

@ SimmyBunz - Congrats on reaching 37 weeks! Getting really close now! I agree with you...also frustrates me that I can't pack my bag like the baby bag so that it is ready to just grab and go. Glad the press stud idea worked for you too

@ Gontse1, First time mom & Nels_n - any update yet? Did you have your little onest? Send some pics

@ Tanya, good luck with your scan today - let us know how it goes


AF - counting down the last few weeks....feeling huge and soooo uncomfortable - everything seems to be a struggle these days and the heat is just getting the best of me! Feeling sooo tired and drained - can't remember when last I had a decent night's sleep....hardly been sleeping these last few nights as I am incredibly uncomfortable and still struggle with leg/hip pains at night. Ready for baba to come now LOL....but I know I have to be patient and wait a few more weeks....not long to go

NnitaN, Gontse and First-Time Mom - We need updates! I can't believe you guys are full term/overdue now, where did the time go!?

Spirited Mama - I'm so glad you are feeling better and have been discharged! Please update us tomorrow about when you will be delivering!

Pokkeltjie - You are an absolute genius - I made 3 DIY nursing tops with the press studs and now my bags are all packed. Well, except for the items I still need between now and when I deliver, but I have made a list of those things to add when I'm in labour. I find it quite frustrating to not be able to "finish" packing - like my hairbrush and toothbrush for instance Oh, and I hope LO's first week at school has been great!

Nels_n - Oh, so we are due date buddies happy 37 weeks then! I saw on the list your due date was 17/1 but now I realise that's delivery day. Woah, that's today! good luck, please update us ASAP! So exciting!

AFM- I have been quite patient up until this point, but today I am 37 weeks! I know it's not considered full term anymore (it's now early term- full term is 39 weeks) but it still feels like a HUGE milestone! Baby could come at anytime now, so with that in mind, the nursery and everything ready and waiting, and all the babies being born on here, I am starting to get impatient and super excited! Although I don't want him to come out before he's ready, I just can't wait

You ladies who have other kiddies - at how many weeks did you go into labour?

It is very exciting to see all these deliveries , mine seems so far away still 5 weeks but I am happy for baba to stay in and grow
nice and strong.

Pokkeltjie - how exciting that your LG went to Grade 1, new beginnings for you this month.

SimmyBunz - you seem all ready for your LO , I am still sorting baba's room etc , ordered a winnie the pooh linen set
cant wait for it to arrive but have said the rest of the room needs to be sorted out by then , NO PRESSURE.

I am trying to remember what I need for LO , my stork tea is on the 4th of Feb and need to make a list of things people can buy but not sure what else I need, the winning lotto ticket will also not be bad.

Hope the rest of you ladies are all doing well and resting up this last bit.

Hi Ladies

Just a quick update. I was discharged and am on bed rest at home. Dr is very happy with our progress thus far. Will see dr on Wednesday, @37weeks, and she will assess situation then. If everything is still going well she will let me ride it out until next Wednesday, when I'll be 38weeks. She doesn't want to chance it by going pass 38 weeks. So if baby is not here this week, we will most likely induce next week.

This boy is very active and has lots of hiccups... The excitement levels are high in our house right now as baby is coming very soon....

How is everyone else doing? Nels good luck for tomorrow.

simmybunz@ your due date is the same as mine ( at least according to the Radiographer). I am glad are doing well and didn't catch any bug during your holidays.

pokkeljie@ soon you will be on maternity leave and be able to rest. I also just bought vests and use pyjama pants or yoga pants ( I prefer yoga pants more).

Spirited@ glad to hear you have hit the 36 week mark and your body is responding so well to medication. Oh man. the way the little ones get excited and its even more beautiful when your partner feels the same. please keep us posted.

how are the rest of the ladies doing?

AFM: I didn't get a scan on Monday. But am on a second round of antibiotics and went for a non stress test at the hospital and all seemed fine but have been told if the tummy issue doesn't stop I must call my Gynea and they will book me in. so far the meds are doing their job thankfully.
I bought vests from Pick n Pay and yoga pants and will also use my pyjama pants. I found this to be much much cheaper and more convenient for me. I am not a night dress or pyjama type of person. that has worked well for feeding too. Pokkeljie the stud idea is great. I will use it.
Bags are packed and dh leave is booked. 17th is d day. I can't wait.
