Spitited@ oh no so sorry to hear you have to be in hospital. But don't worry all will work out at the end. Glad that you arebin safe hands and being monitored regularly. Don't worry your son will have a great first day. and you will have a lot of pics from hubby. Please keep us posted on how you are doing, thankfully you have a gem of a Gynea.
tanyas@ lol. the braxton hicks are really exhausting mentally because you end up wondering what is what? real or not lol. you are always on high alert. I am having them too quiet often.
Cuma and Bae @ how is motherhood treating you ladies? How is the healing going along?
thankfully the whatsapp group is helping me keep up to date with the other moms. signing on here is at times impossible. not sure why.
AFM: I have mild period like pains and constant braxton hicks. Been having tummy issues since Thursday morning. I have no idea what is happening. This pregnancy has been so different and unique that I feel like I am preggies for the first time. I don't know if I have a tummy bug or my body getting ready for labour or the antibiotics. No Idea. Thankfully Monday is my last Gynea appointment. so we will see what she says on Monday.
oh and I have cankles still. I have resorted to just relaxing by force because doing a little is too much on my body. I get pains in places I never knew existed lol.
how is everyone else doing?
Amara born 2 December 2009 Weight 3.30
Kwakhanya born 1 April 2015
Mommy to 2 beautiful boys.
So I was admitted to Pretoria East hospital yesterday, diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. Although my BP is consered normal the excessive protein in urine and edema is very bad. I am currently 35 weeks and 3days.
Mr dr and I are on the same page thankfully. Baby Noah and I are safe and stable. We will push to get to 37weeks, maybe even 38 weeks before we deliver. Well thats if he doesn't decide to come before then.... i hope he stays put. He is healthy and weighing 2.6kg. Yesterday I got a steroid injection to mature his lungs and will be getting another tonight. I am on bed rest, wearing compression socks and getting daily clexhane injections now for DVT.
My dr is not pressurising me into a csec and says we can discuss my options when the time comes. She is willing to induce so that I can have a vag delivery.
So for now I am in hospital until Noah is born. A bit bummed that I am missing my eldest's first day of grade 2. At least my hubby and great Aunt can manage the school run and household until things normalise. Well that is whatever normal is when Noah comes home too.
Oh and I can't sit still either. Never have and probably never will
I have been doing everything I need to as I normally would, albeit slower but I like my independence. Still driving as well. With the eldest I drove 120kms the day before he was born
My pet peeve is when someone says I can't do something because of xyz...and I personally feel that pregnancy is not my limitation so why do I need to be treated like cotton wool..
But each to his own, it's just the way I am. Some say stubborn and hard arsed, I say independent and liberal
Nope still waiting. Hopefully have the results latest early next week. I have been googling the crap out of my symptoms and it seems Pre E can be diagnosed with a normal BP too. I've freaked out a bit so decided its best to wait and get away from google...
I also use Slow mag and it definitely helps with the cramps. Yesterday I tried to lie down in the afternoon with my legs elevated...it got so bad that I just gave up. IT feels so much worse when I elevate my legs. My feet is so swollen and actually the skin is discoloured on top of my feet. Guess I will just have to wait until the Dr calls and gives me a POA.
At this stage I'm savouring my pregnancy and I'm in no rush for it to be over. In my mind this is my last pregnancy. With the eldest I opted for an elective induction at 39 weeks ad all was well and went according to plan. I actually had a really easy natural birth. This time round I would like to wait it out and let him come at his own speed... So I am a bit worried about this protein nonsense as I don't want to be hospitalised neither do I want an induction... This waiting is killing me...
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all of you. Wow can’t believe we are all in the final stretch and some have already had their babies!
Scan went well on Tuesday thank you, he weighed 2.67kgs at 34 weeks and everything still looks fine. I just feel nauseus now most mornings
And my feet swell up like balloons but the doc says its all normal for the last few weeks. Its sucks though. I also constantly have restless legs
Which I hate because I cant stop moving and fidgeting. I have started taking slowmag but it doesn’t seem to be helping at all. Been having quite
A lot of Braxton Hicks and thought I was in preterm labout lol, but they put me on venties to stop the irritation, not from an infection just due to
Baby kicking my walls the whole time.
My next appointment is 18 January
Cuma, AnaB CONGRATS!!!!!! Your babies are beautiful, hope you have both settled in by now?
Bea that’s great news that the boys are home now, how is your daughter handling it?
Debbie how are you feeling now? All better? How was your appointment?
Pokkeltjie I feel pretty much the same as you lol, mine also hasn’t dropped yet and I have 4 weeks left to go. I am working till the 25th hopefully if nothing happens before then so lets see.
Nnita How are you? Is baby here?
Spirited Mama Did you get your test results back? Is all ok?
AnaB Congrats on Briony!
Bea - so happy that the boys are home and doing well.
First time mom - Almost time hey...
Nnita - ooh keep us posted please.
Hi to everyone else. Hope everyone is still hanging in there. The babies are coming in at a steady pace now on our thread.
AFM - I am still battling with swollen feet. It literally feels like my feet and ankles are going to pop. I swam quite a bit in the holidays. Saw my Dr yesterday and she is happy with LB thus far. He is now 2.6kg at 35 weeks. I am guessing he will be about 3kg at birth, my first was 3.4kg. My BP is normal 120/60. But I have protein in my urine. Currently busy with the 24hr urine test so that we can check the protein levels. NOt sure what the way forward is but we need to wait for the test results.... I had an elective induction with my first born but want to wait it out with this little one...
I finally packed our bags last night. So that is one less thing to worry about. I also applied for my maternity leave from 14 Feb. Not sure if I am being too adventurous with the dates...
Other than some pain in my ribs I feel fine. Oh did I mention some days it feels like this boy is going to fall out of my vagina...why? because dr confirmed that his head is engaged in my pelvis. This boy is getting ready.
We have painted the nursery and got the cot, pram, car seat and bath compactum ready. Even the cupboard is packed with his things...I have a sneaky feeling this boy aint gona wait 40 weeks...
